The debut of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- After 42 years one the west coast, "The Tonight Show" will debut tonight where it began: in New York.

In a nod to the shows' 60 year history, the show will air from the same studio Johnny Carson used at Rockefeller Center.

Comedian Jimmy Fallon is taking over for Jay Leno, who hosted it for 22 years.

Fallon's first guests tonight are Will Smith and the band U2.

Other guests expected this week are Jerry Seinfeld, Lady Gaga, Kristin Wiig and Michelle Obama.
