Netflix signs deal with Comcast

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- Streaming movies and TV shows on Netflix should get faster.

The online video service has reportedly reached a deal with Comcast to ensure that its programs are streamed smoothly to households.

The Wall Street Journal reports the agreement allows Netflix to connect directly to the internet service provider's broadband network.

Netflix and online providers have been at odds over the huge amount of bandwidth used by streaming video.

At peak times, Netflix traffic can eat up one-third of all U.S. broadband network traffic.
