Garland, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's golf team
fired two solid rounds and the Cru is in second place after the opening
day of the John Davis Group/U.T.-Dallas Invitational Monday
in Garland. UMHB posted a 314-305=619 team total and trails first-place
U.T.-Tyler's 313-299=612 by seven strokes. Schreiner University is in
third place with a 311-310=621, Concordia Texas holds down fourth place
at 322-305=627 and U.T.-Dallas' green team rounds out the top five with a
316-327=643 total. There are a total of ten teams competing in the
Stayton Lindeman is the low individual for the Cru men after posting 75-75=150. Lindeman is tied for third place individually. U.T.-Tyler's Buddy Hallman (76-73) and Concordia's Josh Hernandez (78-71) are tied for the individual lead, one shot ahead of Lindeman at 149. Robby Schimmels posted a 79-76=155 for the Cru and is in ninth place, Pablo Mena Medrano (81-76) and Justin Judkins (78-79) are tied for 11th after carding 157's and Jarrod Brown is tied for 22nd place with an 84-79=163 total.
The two-day, 54-hole event is being played on a par-72, 7,207-yard layout at Firewheel Country Club in Garland. Teams will tee off for Tuesday's final round beginning at 8:00 AM.
