UPDATE: Killeen Shooting Suspect and Victim Identified

(KCEN) -- Detectives investigating a Saturday night shooting in Killeen that left one man dead have issued a complaint with the Bell County District Attorney's Office on Sunday charging 17-year-old De'Marcus Kar'del Bronner with murder.

His bond is set at $1,000,000 and he will be transferred to the Bell County Jail later today.

The shooting victim has been identified as 35-year-old Jorge Ramirez Jr. of Killeen.

An autopsy will be performed on Ramirez Jr. at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.


(KCEN) -- Killeen police are investigating the shooting that occurred around Gus Dr. Saturday night just before 10 p.m.

Officers responded to a report of a man wearing all black and carrying what looked like a shotgun in the 3400 block of Stan Schlueter Loop. When an officer arrived in the area he located a silver Honda Accord stopped in the road in the 4600 block of Lonesome Dove Dr. A 35-year-old male was in the driver's side of the car suffering from a life threatening gunshot wound.

Officers performed CPR on the victim. He was transported to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Killeen police located a suspicious male in the 3200 block of Gus Dr. and took him into custody after further investigation.

The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of his next of kin.

The name of the suspect is also being withheld pending further investigation.
