Wounded Warrior Receives New Home

Posted: Updated:
(KCEN) -- A former Fort hood soldier is given a brand new home.... Thanks to a group that supports our wounded warriors.

Jerry Livesay received the keys to his new home in Killeen Thursday morning.

He is medically retired from the Army as of 2009 after he was injured by an IED blast in Iraq.

And after living in Lampasas for several years, he says he's happy to be living close to Fort Hood again.

"It's a brotherhood. People understand more, what you went through, and you understand them," says new homeowner, Jerry Livesay.

Jerry's brother, Christopher, will also receive a new home in Fort Worth next Tuesday.

He served in the Army Special Forces and had to have his leg amputated after suffering a gunshot wound in Iraq in 2003.
