Driver of Car Involved in Crash Suffered Gunshot Wound

Posted: Updated:
(KCEN) -- A Waco man was rushed into surgery after he was found with a gunshot wound after an accident.

It happened last night at 17th and Waco Dr.

Police say a man was driving through that intersection when he hit a compact SUV carrying two people rolling it several times.

The driver of the car later turned up at Hillcrest Hospital and was taken into emergency surgery due to his gunshot wound.

The two people in the SUV are expected to be okay.

As far as the shooting goes, just before that accident reports of gunfire were reported in the 900 Block of South 12th St.

Cops responded to a domestic dispute where a man allegedly pistol whipped a woman.

The gun went off during the beating but cops were not aware of anyone being hurt at the time.

They do believe the man involved in the accident near Waco Dr. may have been hit by that gunfire.

But he was rushed to surgery before cops could speak with him.

The incident remains under investigation.
