WACO, Texas - The Baylor men's tennis team will host Drake, Miami and Tulane on Jan. 24-25, 2015, at the Hurd Tennis Center for the ITA Kick-Off Weekend, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced on Wednesday.

“We are excited to be part of the national indoor tournament,” head coach Matt Knoll said. “The kick-off weekend is a big deal around the country and we are proud to a part of it. We think it is a great way to start our season.”

The three visiting schools will travel to Waco for a four-team tournament with No. 1 seed Baylor facing No. 4 seed Tulane and the second-seeded Drake Bulldogs playing No. 3 seed Miami on Saturday, Jan. 24. The winners will come back the following day to play for a berth at the ITA National Men's Team Indoor Championship on Sunday, Jan. 25. Baylor is one of 15 men's host sites around the country for the event.

The three teams chose to come to Waco as part of a draft selection process that was completed on Thursday. The higher ranked teams picked locations first.

The indoor team championship will then be held Feb. 13-16, 2014, in Urbana, Ill.

As a team, Baylor finished the year ranked No. 6, after posting a 26-6 record and making the NCAA quarterfinals for the first time since 2011. The Bears won both the Big 12 regular season and tournament titles.

Drake finished the 2014 campaign ranked 45th nationally. The Bulldogs posted a 22-6 record and including the Bulldogs' first-ever NCAA Championship win. The Missouri Valley Conference tournament champions lost in the first round of the NCAA Championships.

Miami was ranked No. 55 to end 2014, after tallying a 14-11 mark on the season. The Hurricanes missed out on the NCAA Championships, but are slated to bring back five players from last season’s squad.

Tulane went 15-9 in 2014 and lost the Conference USA title match. The Green Wave was ranked No. 65 to close the season and are scheduled to bring back seven players from that team.

The other 14 host sites are: USC, Oklahoma, UCLA, Virginia, Ohio State, North Carolina, Texas, Georgia, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Notre Dame, Duke, Florida, California.

Baylor hosted the event last season beating Boise State (4-0) and Auburn (4-1) to advance to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Houston. Drake was also in Waco last season for the event, but lost to Auburn (4-1) in the first round and then lost 4-1 to Boise State in the consolation round.
