WDDC Works To Enhance Baylor Game Day Experience

Posted: Updated:
(KCEN) -- Waco Downtown Development Corporation is engineering the game day experience.

The second of three meetings specifically geared towards merchants was held Tuesday at the Creative Art Studio & Theatre in Waco.

Baylor, WDDC, and city officials were on hand to answer questions regarding parking, shuttle service, and merchant support.

According to Waco Transit, the shuttle service will have one pickup and drop off point and it will be much shorter and quicker. There will also be dedicated bus lanes and the service will begin two hours before pickup.

To address parking concerns, officials have allocated 1,968 free off-street spaces for game-goers.

Megan Henderson, Executive Director of WDDC, says downtown business owners have always been concerned about parking, traffic, and access to their business.

“What we want to make sure of is that we are balancing out responsibility to our merchants who are our tax payers, customers and service providers 365 days a year,” said Henderson.

A third and final meeting is scheduled for 2 p.m. on July 8.
