Premiere station off Interstate 70 provides natural gas fueling for local vehicles and regional fleets
ST. LOUIS, June 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Laclede Group is changing the course for drivers and helping Missouri run on clean and affordable compressed natural gas (CNG) with the debut of its first Spire Natural Gas Fueling station near Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. State and local dignitaries joined Laclede executives to celebrate fueling station's official grand opening this morning.
"Spire is a smarter choice for a better tomorrow," said Mike Spotanski, president of Spire. "This is about using a clean, affordable and abundant fuel that improves our communities, our businesses and the environment. Using natural gas as a transportation fuel reduces carbon monoxide emissions by 90 percent and virtually eliminates smog from vehicles. And drivers are choosing to fuel at Spire. Since opening, the station is already exceeding expectations."
The station is located at 4231 Cypress Road, a site that maximizes customer convenience because it is close to Lambert and I-70, serving a number of airport shuttles, trucking fleets, school buses and passenger vehicles that run on CNG.
The station was built using top of the line equipment from leading manufacturers to provide a reliable, efficient and safe fueling experience. Customers are able to fill their vehicles quickly and safely thanks to the high quality control technology and compression equipment. Additionally, the station is monitored around the clock with surveillance monitors and is well lit for customers who fuel overnight.
Any compressed natural gas vehicle can fuel at this location. The station was designed for large class-8 trucks all the way down to passenger vehicles like a Honda Civic CNG.
Spire offers both private and public fueling solutions. While each solution is customized, every customer is provided a comprehensive package including complete financing with no capital outlay, design and construction services, operations and maintenance support.
