KPD Asks For Public's Help In Finding Man Seen Masturbating Near Schools

Posted: Updated:
(KCEN) -- Killeen police need your help finding a man who has been seen masturbating in front of students several times over the last nine months.

KPD said Thursday they have received multiple complaints about a man with the same description masturbating in cars near schools and crowded school buses.

In September of last year, he was seen in a newer red Dodge Journey near an elementary school, then again in November in what was described as a red SUV near a high school.

In April of this year, he was seen in a white GMC Yukon in view of a school bus.

He was also seen at least twice earlier this month in a red SUV near a middle school.

“We know this is not just the few times he's done it. He's probably done it more and people just haven't reported it,” said KPD’s Carroll Smith.

The suspect is described as a white male, possibly in his late 30s. Police don’t have any further description.

Now that school is out, officers are concerned he might be targeting parks and other locations where children congregate.

"This guy is not going to stop here," Smith said. "And we know apparently he has something where he wants to be around kids all the time. We don't know what he's capable of, and we don't want to find out."

Smith said in light of two kidnappings at bus stops and subsequent assaults a few years ago, they want to find this man as soon as possible.

“Those results were not good,” she said. “We don't want that to happen again, and we don't want anybody to get any ideas. So we need people to be vigilant; we need them to keep an eye on their surroundings.”

Those past cases were solved and the suspect is still in jail, and police don’t believe these most recent incidents are tied to any past arrests.

If you know anything about this man or if you were a victim, you are urged to contact Killeen police at (254) 501-8800.

(KCEN) – While the homeless veteran count is dropping nationwide, Killeen and Temple are seeing a spike in the number of homeless veterans – and it's not just individual veterans. “We're seeing more homeless families, and we've seen an increase in that over the last few months because of the downsizing of the military,” Paula Wood said. “It's very sad to look a family in the eye and say do you have a friend or family member you can stay with because it's going to take a month to get you re-ho...More >>

(NBC) -- A federal judge Friday threw out new Texas abortion restrictions that would have effectively closed more than a dozen clinics in the state. U.S. District Judge Lee Yeakel sided with clinics that sued over one of the most disputed measures of a sweeping anti-abortion bill signed by Republican Gov. Rick Perry in 2013. The ruling stops new restrictions that would have left just seven abortion facilities open in Texas by Sept. 1; there are currently 19 providers in Texas, according to th...More >>
