Community Mourns the Loss of Little River-Academy Police Chief

 (KCEN) -- Residents of the small town of Little River-Academy is in mourning after its beloved police chief was killed, Thursday night.

 Mayor Ronnie White describes Chief Lee Dixon as a simple man, with common sense who love his job.

 "The badge and the gun didn't make him walk around any different," said Mayor White.

 David Borders serves as chief of  the Little River-Academy's Volunteer Fire Department. He not only worked side by side with Dixon. The two were close friends.
 
 "He would take the time to stop and talk to the kids and say hello. He always had a story to tell and really loved his horses."

 Although his life was tragically cut short, the community vows chief Dixon will never be for gotten
