At Least 53 Dogs Killed in Dallas House Fire

(CNN) -- Investigators in Dallas are looking for the cause of fire that killed dozens of animals and injured two people.

It broke out Tuesday morning in Dallas. 

Crews rescued a man and woman from the home.

They suffered burns and smoke inhalation and were taken to the hospital.

The fire department says 53 dogs were killed in the fire.

Ten other animals were rescued and are receiving treatment.

It happened along Highway 6 and FM 1860 in Riesel.The extent of the injuries were unknown but there were reports that passengers had to be rescued from one of the vehicles. Two photos sent to KCEN by Kimberly Sowders, who was working nearby, showed extensive damage to the SUV.
