Man Killed Outside of Gunshow

Posted: Updated:
(KCEN) -- Police are searching for answers after a Jarrell man is killed in a shooting outside of a gun show.

They say 59-year-old John Warden was shot inside a car in the parking lot of the Cedar Park Center just after 5 p.m. Saturday.

When it happened, police say Warden's son-in-law, Jared Priddy, was handling the firearm after reloading it.

Warden was shot one time.

He was taken to St. David's Round Rock Medical Center, where he later died. The gun show was canceled for today, but many didn't find out until they arrived.

"They just said the gun show had been canceled and they wouldn't tell us why," said gun show visitor Jason Danpell.

The gun show has been rescheduled for August 2nd and 3rd.

Cedar Park Police continue their investigation. At this point, they do not believe the shooting was intentional.
