Protesters Rally Outside Temple VA Medical Center

Posted: Updated:
(KCEN) -- On the very day a new Veterans Affairs Administration Secretary is named, protesters rally outside the medical center in Temple.

Citizens Defending American Vets is a group that formed in central Texas over the weekend.

They're demanding change, transparency and more accountability.

Some of them say they've been wait listed for appointments themselves.

Texas Army National Guardsman Chris Coleman wants a complete overhaul of the system.

Coleman says, "Veterans are committing suicide a day, and there's something seriously wrong with that, if they're not getting the proper psychological mental healthcare to fix the problems, so that they can survive."
