1 Injured In Central Texas Oil Well Explosion

(KCEN) -- One person is airlifted to the hospital after an oil well explosion in Robertson County.

It happened just before noon near Rabe Cutoff Road northeast of Franklin.

No word yet on what sparked the fire or explosion.

One worker was injured in the blast.

"They had to pull him to safety. The well was engulfed in flames when they arrived. He was transported off by helicopter to Houston to the burn center there," said Robinson County Investigator Steve Misterek. 

No word on that man's condition.

Crews plan to let the fire burn out, then begin investigating the cause of the explosion.
