The wreck is completely clear and traffic is moving on I-35.

UPDATE: July 15, 2014, 9:00 a.m.

Northbound I-35 traffic is still backed up for miles.

Police are now letting people exit the highway and re-enter in Bruceville-Eddy near mile marker 316.

It will be another 2-3 hours until the accident is cleared and I-35 is open again.

(KCEN)  Traffic on Interstate 35 northbound in Bruceville-Eddy was  diverted  Tuesday morning after two 18-wheelers crashed and one caught fire.

The accident happened just after 4:30 a.m, around mile marker  316. Both drivers were able to escape  the trucks but they both had to be transported to the hospital.

One of the trucks was carrying auto parts and the other was carrying balloons. The rubber from the balloons was extremely flammable, making the fire more difficult to put out.

Traffic was backed up for miles and police   were diverting northbound traffic onto State Highway 107.

Fire departments from Bruceville-Eddy and Moody  responded to the scene.

According to officials  at the scene, the highway  could be closed for at least three hours.
