(KCEN) -- UPDATE: Crews are working to repair a break on a 12-inch water line in Belton. The City originally reported the water line was 8-inches.

The line was located around an area where there was construction on a Valero expansion near Loop 121 and U.S. 190.

Paul Romer with the City of Belton said the line was set to be abandoned and wasn't necessary to service businesses in the area.

Romer says a water tower near the area of the break lost a good amount of water. The water tower's capacity is going back up and had gained back a significant amount of water it had lost. But Romer says people should continue to conserve water until otherwise notified by the city.

Splash pads have been allowed to start operating again.

(KCEN) -- An 8-inch water line has ruptured on a construction site near Loop 121 and U.S 190.

People in the Belton are being asked to conserve water for the next 24 hours.

This is a developing story. We'll update this page throughout the day with new info as we receive it.
