ESPN Central Texas Challenges Nikki, Pierre In Ice Bucket Challenge

Posted: Updated:
(KCEN) -- Well, we knew it was coming.

Some of our anchors at KCEN were challenged for the Ice Bucket Challenge.

On Friday, Paul Catalina from ESPN Central Texas took the Ice Bucket Challenge and then challenged KCEN Anchor Nikki Laurenzo and Sports Director Pierre Noujaim.

The viral challenge, where people dump a bucket of ice water over their head, kicked off earlier this year, and is helping to raise awareness for ALS, known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Once completed, participants then challenge three others to either do the same or make a donation to the national ALS Association.

The Ice Bucket Challenge has had a big impact on ALS awareness in a very short time. Since late July, the ALS Association has raised $2.3 million.

See who accepts the challenge on the 6 p.m. newscast on Friday!
