Sirens sounded, people told to take cover during afternoon storms

The Groesbeck Fire Department confirmed it sounded emergency warning sirens in Limestone County Wednesday afternoon to warn people about the chance for severe hail and strong winds.

"Do not go outside," the department wrote in a Facebook post. "Stay indoors away from windows."

The Freestone County Sheriff's Office warned its residents after severe weather, too.

"We have a severe thunderstorm coming through out county with golf ball size hail and up to 60 mile an hour winds," the office said in a Facebook post. "Protect yourselves and your pets."

The storm threat had begun to move out of both counties, as of late Wednesday afternoon.
