Leslie Draffin is the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. anchor at KCEN TV in Temple, TX.
Leslie has been with KCEN since January 2017. Before moving to Texas, Leslie woke up extra early to anchor morning news in Oklahoma City where she was part of a team that won two statewide awards for “Best Newscast.”
Leslie produces, shoots, writes and edits a weekly segment on KCEN called “Your Best Life” where she focuses on ways to live a healthier life, popular fitness and diet trends and spotlights inspirational people in the Central Texas community.
She is passionate about supporting our military members and veterans. Both of Leslie’s grandfathers served in WW2 and her boyfriend is a Navy veteran, so reporting on issues affecting our servicemen and women is especially close to her heart.
Leslie has a true heart for helping animals. She is a foster dog mom with a local rescue group and has helped many dogs find their forever families.
When she's not working, Leslie spends her time entertaining her own "fur-baby" Gunner: a 170 pound Great Dane. In fact, she met her boyfriend because he also owns a Great Dane named Thor. Needless to say, their home is covered in a thin layer of drool and dog hair.
Leslie is also an accomplished pianist, tailgate enthusiast, DIYer and frugal fashionista! She is terrible at cooking and even worse when it comes to cleaning clutter!
Leslie graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina’s Honors College with a degree in Electronic Journalism and a minor in Fashion Merchandising.
