TEMPLE, Texas — Meredith Haas joined the KCEN team in June 2022 as a multi-skilled journalist from Philadelphia, Penns.
She reported at Temple University's station for two years, where she earned a Bachelor's in Journalism. While there, she worked as a production assistant and assignment editor at NBC10 for over a year. She also took on two internships at Philadelphia stations, PHL17 and WHYY. These experiences gave her a chance to realize how much she loves journalism and the work, friends and the connections it brings.
Meredith not only shares the Temple name with us, but some southern ties too. Most of her family is from Galveston, Texas, so she sees the state as her second home.
She’s always had a love for writing and getting to know people, but when Meredith took her first journalism class in high school, she knew it was the career path for her. From then on, she wrote for her high school, local and college newspapers. Her appreciation for the written word easily translated into reporting on-air and taking on a multitude of on-air projects at Temple University.
Meredith has always been fascinated with art. She was a classical dancer for 13 years and loved every minute of it. She has always loved to paint, draw, read, write and garden. Her lively personality and humble nature is what KCEN and Central Texas is looking forward to seeing when she is in your neighborhoods and on your TV.
Meredith looks forward to getting to know everyone in the area. She knows that Texans can be the most down to earth people (like her family) and she looks forward to getting to know everyone.
