Cardi B has joined the likes of Nicki Minaj and Lauryn Hill as female rappers who topped the Billboard charts on their debut albums.

Billboard.com reports “Invasion of Privacy” earned 255,00 equivalent album units in the week ending on April 12, based on data from Nielsen Music, making it the second-biggest week for music of this year. Justin Timberlake’s “Man of the Woods” earned 293,000 units in February and remains the best opening week for an album this year.

Of “Invasion’s” total, 103,000 units were from “traditional album sales” and is the biggest sales week for an R&B or rap album this year.

The stripper-turned-rapper from The Bronx has made waves on social media over the past year with appearances on “Love and Hip-Hop: New York.” But her meteoric rise in the rap genre came mid-2017 with the release of “Bodak Yellow” the first single from her album, which dropped April 6.

“Bodak Yellow” which had the rapper drop verses about leaving behind her stripper past and making “money moves” and fixing her teeth, made her the second-only female rapper to top the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 after Lauryn Hill in 1998.

Cardi B previously released two mixtapes that are available on streaming services such as Spotify.

In terms of the success of her debut LP, Cardi B becomes the fifth female rapper to top the Billboard 200 albums chart, following Nicki Minaj, Eve, Foxy Brown and Lauryn Hill, according to Billboard.

Posts regarding Cardi B and her album have run rampant on social media, particularly Instagram and Twitter, as numerous celebrities and fans have shared posts on their Instagram stories or on their pages about the album.

Cardi B, who recently revealed her pregnancy during a performance on “Saturday Night Live” is slated to perform Sunday night at Coachella, as well as next weekend during the music festival’s second weekend.

In other music release news, rock group Thirty Seconds to Mars released its new album “America” which debuted at No. 2 behind Cardi B’s album with 62,000 units sold, Billboard reports.
