411 House | The non-profit, Giving Tuesday, during a pandemic

The East Temple based non-profit is looking for 30 monthly donors as a part of their Giving Tuesday campaign.

TEMPLE, Texas — 411 House an East Temple-based non-profit focuses on building community, relationships and experiences with the kids, according to the Founder and Executive Director Kim White.

"It's like a fun place and it's like when you are here you know you're safe and it helps you get to know God and stuff," 12-year-old Kesean said.

The organization works with boys in the neighborhood aged nine to seventeen. For those a part of 411 House, it means something to them.

"I appreciate Miss Kim. It means a lot," 13-year-old Tristan said.

The organization is kicking off its Giving Tuesday campaign with a goal of 30 monthly donors.

"It's basically like an income for a non-profit organization so we know what's coming, we know what to expect and it helps us plan and provides programs consistently for our kids," White said.

According to White, they were open for a year when COVID-19 hit.

"It's been really hard because what we are about is gathering," White said.

In some ways, White said it has been good for them to be able to take a step back to focus and plan for next year. Even though it's hard they are not able to see the kids the way they were before.

"This is your community like this is our community and I think it's really important to give back and to be apart of things in your community," White said.
