436 new COVID-19 cases, two COVID related deaths reported in Nueces County today. Here's a breakdown of cases in the Coastal Bend.

San Patricio County also reported one new COVID related death, bringing their total of COVID related deaths to 20.

JWC PRESS RELEASE July 5, 2020 7:24 P.M. Jim Wells County Judge Juan Rodriguez and the Office of Emergency Management continue to monitor the information, on a daily basis, that is being shared by state and federal officials regarding COVID-19.
County Judge Rudy Madrid & Mayor Sam Fugate have received notification of (10) additional COVID-19 cases. No cases have been removed from isolation today. Currently there are (53) active COVID-19 cases in our community. FREE COVID-19 testing returns tomorrow morning at 9 AM at the JK Northway Expo Center.
Update #4 (July 4th): We continue to monitor and analyze the info that is being shared by state and federal officials regarding COVID-19. As of this morning, Duval County has a total 53 confirmed positive cases, 42 active. Continued prayers for all those affected.

Monday, July 6: Nueces County officials reported 233 new coronavirus cases. The total number of cases is now 4,084.

Sunday, July 5: Nueces County officials reported 203 new coronavirus cases. The total number of cases is now 3,796. City health officials confirmed the 14th death of a Nueces County resident due to COVID-19, then immediately reported three additional deaths after. The death count is now at 17 in Nueces County. 

Saturday, July 4: The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District confirmed the 13th death of a Nueces County resident due to COVID-19. 

Nueces County officials also reported 321 new coronavirus cases.

Friday, July 3: Nueces County's 10th COVID-19 related death was reported Friday, according to Corpus Christi City Councilman Ben Molina.

Molina took to Facebook around 9:45 a.m. Friday morning saying the deceased was a female patient in her 60s. According to the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District, the patient was hospitalized in late June. The patient did have one underlying medical condition which was hypertension.

The Public Health District says the increase in hospitalizations and deaths due to the virus is “a major concern in our community.” They encourage residents to continue wearing face coverings, washing hands, and practice social distancing.

Monday, June 29: Corpus Christi City Manager Peter Zanoni confirms the 8th death by the coronavirus in Nueces County. The patient was a male between the ages of 50 - 59. Officials report that the man did have underlying health conditions. He passed away on Sunday evening.

Sunday, June, 28: Nueces County officials reported 188 new coronavirus cases.

Saturday, June 27: Nueces County officials reported 228 new coronavirus cases. The total number of cases is now 1,727.

Friday, June 26: Nueces County officials reported 212 new coronavirus cases.

Thursday, June 25: Nueces County officials reported 259 new coronavirus cases. The total number of cases in the county is now 1,287. 

Wednesday, June 24: Nueces County officials reported 215 new coronavirus cases. This is the first time the daily number of cases is in the 200's. The total number of cases in the county is now 1,028. 

Tuesday, June 23: Corpus Christi and Nueces County officials reported 71 new coronavirus cases. Council Member Ben Molina saying the 71 positive are only from commercial labs. None of the results are back from today’s drive-thru.
