Two women who were arrested Sunday after a traffic stop on I-35 in Bruceville- Eddy are charged with capital murder.

Cynthia Alixandra Wingate, 29, and 23-year old Carmen Abigail Moreno are being held in McLennan County Jail on $750,000 bonds.

The charges come after a deputy pulled Wingate over for driving in the left lane without passing, according to an arrest affidavit. During the stop, the officer found what appeared to be a little more than 3 grams of methamphetamine in the car, the affidavit said.

After Wingate gave the deputy permission to search the car, he found two large knives, one with blood on the blade and handle, several debit cards, credit cards and medical documentation belonging to two elderly people, according to the affidavit.

While Wingate was stopped, Moreno pulled a Toyota she was driving in front of the car Wingate was driving, according to the affidavit. Moreno got out of the car and said she needed to get something from Wingate. While she was talking to officers, a white pill of Acetaminophen/Codeine, fell out of her jacket pocket.

The affidavit also said Moreno had what looked like blood on her jacket.

The officers searched the Toyota and found debit and credit cards, social security cards and driver's licenses. They also found what appeared to be methamphetamine, according to the affidavit.

The officers contacted Plano police and asked that they do a welfare check on the owners of the two vehicles.

Police were sent to the home of Theresa Ann Coomes, 71, and Jimmy Michael Farris, 72, where they were both found dead.

Plano police ruled their deaths homicides Tuesday.

McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara described the scene inside the home as a "brutal homicide."

In addition to capital murder, Wingate and Moreno are also charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a dangerous drug, possession of a fraudulent I.D., and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

It is not yet known when the two will appear in court.
