Woodway Police on Monday arrested a 33-year-old Moody man and charged him with online solicitation of a minor, which is a third-degree felony.
Detectives said Jimmy Lee Smith used a social media messenger to communicate with investigators, who were posing as a 16-year-old girl. Police said Smith requested multiple sexually explicit photos over several days, and officers said he also sent "sexually offensive images" of himself.
"Mr. Smith was reminded several times of the girl’s age and acknowledged he could get in trouble," The Woodway Public Safety Department wrote in a press release. "He also asked the undercover officers to delete the messages."
Investigators obtained a warrant and arrested Smith at his home.
