FALLS COUNTY, Texas — A 21-year-old man died early Saturday morning after his teenage brother shot him with a 12 gauge shotgun, according to the Falls County Sheriff's Office.
The shooting occurred at a residence near the Golinda community in Falls County.
Officials said Michael Weaver, 17, and two others got into an argument when Weaver pulled the gun and shot a single round into the chest of his brother, Lucas Benson.
EMS responded to the scene, but life support efforts were not attempted because of the severity of the injury. Benson was later pronounced deceased.
Officials said Weaver was taken into custody and taken to the Falls County Jail where he was booked under a murder charge. Weaver's bond has not been set.
