WACO, Texas — The Waco Police Department arrested a man who fled from police Monday just before 12:30 p.m. Officers were in the 700 blk of Olive Drive when the man ran from officers on foot.

About 45 minutes after the man ran, he was taken into custody by Waco officers and is no longer a threat to the public, the Waco PD said.

During the search, several streets were blocked off. Those streets included Clifton and Witt, the 700 blk of Olive, and other smaller streets in that same area. At this time all of those streets have been re-opened, the Waco PD said.

Initial reports and radio traffic said the suspect was also a wanted felon, however, Waco Police said this is inaccurate. The investigation into why the subject ran is still ongoing at this time.
