Bobby Whitson defeats incumbent Tim Brown in Bell County commissioner's race

Tim Brown will not get a seventh term.

Banker Bobby Whitson defeated longtime Bell County Precinct 2 Commissioner Tim Brown in Tuesday's Republican primary runoff election.

Whitson, the president of the Greater Central Texas Federal Credit Union, won with 1,804 votes to Brown's 1,496 votes.

Brown has been a Bell County commissioner for six terms.

No Democrats are challenging Whitson in the November general election.
