CENTRAL TEXAS — It's inevitable: Thanksgiving Day will come next Thursday, and no matter how much you think you've prepared something's been forgotten.
Whether it be cranberries for the sauce, potatoes to mash, milk for the gravy, green beans for the casserole or the whole turkey, here's a Central Texas guide to the grocery stores that will be open to fix the consequences of any memory lapses.
Be sure to call ahead to specific locations before heading out, but here are the Thanksgiving operating hours according to the stores' company websites.
H-E-Bs will keep their doors open from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday, but won't be offering curbside or home delivery during that time. Pharmacies will be closed all day.
Mungis Grocery Store
Mungis Grocery Store in Temple will be open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thanksgiving Day.
With hours running from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Dollar General stores are there for you anytime you need them Thanksgiving Day.
Like almost every other holiday (saving Easter Sunday and Christmas Day), Dollar Tree will be operating under normal business hours Thanksgiving Day.
Shoppers can hit up Targets Thursday, but not until 5 p.m. While the hours might not be ideal for picking up Thanksgiving lunch essentials, they go until 1 a.m., offering plenty of opportunity for making the most of dinner-time leftovers.
Walmart will open at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day (again, not really helpful for Thanksgiving lunch, but you can pick up some redemption potatoes to mash for dinner).
