CLIFTON, Texas — The Clifton Police Department said on Facebook Wednesday it got reports of young men participating in a "fight club" at a private home and in city parks.

The department said it is investigating the reports and it will file criminal charges on at least two young men. Others could face charges too, the post said.

The department said families should feel safe in taking their children to city parks without having to see violence or hear profanity.

"Our city parks are intended for the enjoyment of our citizens and visitors to the community," the post said. "Any behavior that is illegal, immoral or disturbing to the public, will not be tolerated."

The department said it will increase patrolling of the city park areas immediately.

"CPD will practice a zero tolerance policy for violations of Texas law or city ordinance," the post said. "Violators will be cited or arrested on site, without exception."
