WACO, Texas —
Just in time for the winter months, some folks in Waco had a chance to pick up some warmer clothes The New Black Collective's coat drive Saturday.

The non-profit organization held the drive at Indian Springs Middle School from 2 to 4 p.m.

Families in the community were able to get a new coat for themselves or loved ones.

The coats were available in infant sizes all the way up to adult.

“It makes me feel really special because I know I’m not just getting up every day and using my craft just for myself and my own personal gain," the New Black Collective member Kevin Thomas said. "I’m using it so other people can have the experiences that I’ve had."

Members of The New Black Collective said they are dedicated to the improvement and advancement of the community.

The organization recently adopted the Oscar Duconge Park in East Waco. Members plan to clean the park four times a year.
