Fifth graders threaten to "commit acts of violence" against Mountain View Elementary School

Three girls were suspended and will not return to Mountain View. Killeen ISD Police are investigating and may file criminal charges.

KILLEEN, Texas — Three fifth grade girls on Wednesday threatened to "commit acts of violence" against  Mountain View Elementary School on Thursday, according to Killeen Independent School District chief communications officer Terry Abbott.

The girls were suspended and will not return to Mountain View, Abbott said. Killeen ISD Police are investigating to determine whether criminal charges will be filed.

Abbott said the district takes matters of school safety seriously and will not tolerate threats against its schools by students or anyone else. He also said the school will be safe and secure Thursday.

"The safety of our students is always our very highest priority," Abbott said.
