VonTrey Clark, a former Austin police officer, is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend in 2015. His murder trial has already been delayed a couple of times.

BASTROP, Texas — A Bastrop County judge has agreed to delay a former Austin police officer's capital murder trial by a year, according to KVUE's media partners at the Austin American-Statesman.

VonTrey Clark is accused of killing his on-and-off girlfriend -- Samantha Dean -- in 2015. Dean, a victim services coordinator with the Kyle Police Department, was seven months pregnant at the time of her death.

The trial has already been delayed a couple of times. Clark's trial has now been set for Feb. 4, 2020.

KVUE previously reported that state prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Clark.
