Free rides to voting polls available in Killeen, Harker Heights, Georgetown

Free rides will be available on Election Day for residents of Killeen, Harker Heights and Georgetown.

CENTRAL TEXAS — The Killeen branch of the NAACP and Nubia Temple 191 are providing free rides to voting polls in Killeen and Harker Heights. Additionally, rides will be free for Georgetown residents on GoGeo buses on Election Day to help get voters to the polls, said communications manager Keith Hutchinson.

Here are the GoGeo bus stops closest to voting locations in Georgetown:

  • Orange route stop on Eighth at Myrtle streets: Four blocks to vote center at Main Street baptist Ministry Center, 111 W. 10th St.
  • Purple route stop on 17th at Hart streets: Two blocks to vote center at Georgetown Housing Authority, 210 W. 18th St.
  • Blue route stop on River Bend at Westwood Lane: Three blocks to vote center at Georgetown Independent School District Admin, 603 Lakeway Drive.

Georgetown residents will also have the option to use Lyft or Uber promo codes for a $10 discount on rides on Election Day. "GTOWNTX18" is the discount code for Lyft. "VOTE2018" is the discount code for Uber.
