KILLEEN, Texas — A middle school student accused of making terroristic threats was arrested Monday.
The Killeen Independent School District student made the threat against Nolan Middle School, the district said. Around 7:45 a.m. police received a call about the threat.
Investigators found the threat “to be unfounded,” according to the district.
“Our students and staff were never in any danger. Within four hours, a middle student was taken into custody and arrested on terroristic threat charges,” the district said.
The student was taken to juvenile detention.
“The safety of our campus is our highest priority. Our students must understand that we are serious about school safety and any students making or spreading false, unverified threats, against our schools will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” the district said.
The student will face a felony. It was not immediately known when the child would be in court.
