Local organization needs diapers to help families in need

The Waco Diaper Bank is asking for the community’s help.

They are in desperate need of diaper donations for low income families.

Earlier this year, a diaper drive saw nearly 10,000 diapers donated to help local families. However, shelves at their storage unit are empty.

Ellen Filgo, director of the diaper bank said the community has a lot of poverty stricken families who need continued help. She said diaper need is real and it comes along with poverty, hunger, and abuse.

“A lot of people in Waco who are working with those populations of people who are in need and so we are trying to provide diapers along with their programs so they don’t’ have to worry about diapers,” she said. “they can worry about their main mission and we can provide diapers to give to our clients who need them.”

The Waco Diaper bank provides 3,000 to 4,000 diapers per month to local organizations.

Diapers in sizes four and five are needed.
