Marlin ISD remains accredited after agreement is made with TEA

Marlin ISD is accredited for another school year.

Marlin ISD was approved for an agreement by the Texas Education Agency after the district appealed the agency’s decision to revoke their accreditation.

The district was granted an abatement agreement for the 2018-2019 school year.

Channel 6 reached out to Marlin ISD Superintendent Michael Seabolt about the decision.

“I was never in doubt,” Seabolt said in response to the approval.

Marlin ISD’s accreditation as a public-school district in Texas was revoked after failing to meet state standards five years in a row.
