MART, Texas — The newest Mart police chief Albert Cavazos was sworn in Monday by Mayor Len Williams.
His wife, Cindy Cavazos, pinned his badge during the ceremony.
This comes after the resignation of several officers and former police Chief Paul Cardenas.
Mart city council accepted the resignation and separation agreement of Cardenas during an hour-long special meeting on May 21.
Cardenas served as the mart police chief since 2015.
Chief Cavazos will officially start on June 24.
