MEXIA, Texas — Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia joins other area hospitals in asking for and accepting medical protective supplies and equipment amid a product shortage due to the coronavirus.
The hospital is accepting unused personal protective equipment like:
- Disposable face masks, including surgical masks and ear loop masks
- Respirator masks rated N95 or higher
- Face shields and goggles designed to protect eyes
- Disposable gowns such as as medical/dental gowns and impervious or isolation gowns
- Disposable non-latex gloves
- Disposable surgical caps
- Disposable food covers
- Antimicrobial wipes
- Hand sanitizer
The hospital said it cannot accept medical devices, medications or linens right now.
Those with supplies and equipment to donate can contact Director of Infection Control Tami Smith at 254-562-0408 extension 1716 to arrange delivery.
The hospital will also have a supply and equipment drop-off Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the screening booth at the in-patient door next to the emergency room entrance.
