Killeen Rodeo celebrates local military

"We've come the past few years to the Rodeo. We love it, especially my oldest," said Stephanie Cortez, a Fort Hood military spouse.

KILLEEN — It’s that time of year again when the Killeen Rodeo rides into town. It's the 71st Annual rodeo in the military town.

Thursday night is Military Appreciation Night, where all military service members and their families are free to go in and enjoy the show.

Stephanie Cortez's husband, Sergeant Adrian Cortez is deployed to the Middle East right now with the 3rd Cavalry Regiment out of Fort Hood.

"We've come the past few years to the Rodeo. We love it, especially my oldest," said Stephanie Cortez, a Fort Hood military spouse.

Cortez said her daughter likes the barrel racing because women ride the horses for that part of the event.

"Many military families are big families and, just like mine, I have three kids, and it's expensive to go out on a night, so this is such a treat, such a blessing," Cortez said.
