AUSTIN, Texas — Editor's note: The related video is about AISD students teaching each other about coronavirus.
As some colleges and universities consider extending spring break or moving classes online over coronavirus concerns, many Central Texas school districts aren't making changes at this time other than certain travel restrictions.
Spokespersons with each school district told KVUE they do not currently have any plans to extend spring break or to close any schools.
Each district is monitoring the situation daily. Some districts, like Lake Travis ISD, said they are prepared to deploy their online learning services if necessary.
On Thursday, Eanes ISD issued students grades K-5 district-issued devices to use in the case the district closes schools.
Austin ISD said it will be canceling large gatherings, field trips, field days, spring break camps and outside building rentals through April 3. UIL events are being considered on a case-by-case basis.
This is not a comprehensive list of all school districts in Central Texas. If you have questions about your child's school, give the school a call.
