UPDATE: Wanted Bryan man, accused in fatal shooting, turns himself in

Salter has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

BRYAN, Texas — UPDATE: April 28, 2021, 9:25 p.m.

The Bryan Police Department said Clifford Salter went to the Brazos County Sheriff's Office and turned himself in this evening.

At this time, he has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently in the Brazos County Jail on $200,000 bond.

The Bryan Police Department is searching for the man they said is responsible for a fatal shooting that happened this morning on North Ennis Street.

Clifford Salter, 22, of Bryan, should be considered armed and dangerous, according to police. If you see him, do not attempt to stop him. Call police immediately.

Authorities said they believe Salter is responsible for the shooting death of Ernest Cardona, 43, of Bryan.

The Bryan Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened early Wednesday morning. One person died at the scene.

It happened just after 5 a.m. in the 300 block of North Ennis Street. Officers got to the scene and found one person had been shot. That person later died at the scene.

Police said at this time, they believe the two people know each other. It is not known at this time what led up to the shooting. Police said they have not made any arrests at this time but the investigation is ongoing. They have not yet identified the people involved.
