Man shot to death near Fleetwood and Greengate in Killeen identified

Killeen Police Chief Charles Kimble called the shooters knuckleheads and cowards for using guns to solve their problems.

KILLEEN, Texas — The Killeen Police Department said a 28-year-old man died after a shooting near the intersection of Fleetwood and Greengate drives.

According to police, there were multiple shooters. They were in a car and got into an argument with Luis Angel Santiago before shooting him, police said.

The man was taken to Seton Medical Center in critical condition, then he died there, according to police.

Police first got a call about a disturbance in the 1900 block of Fleetwood Drive at 5:36 p.m., then got more calls about shots fired shortly after.

Killeen Police Chief Charles Kimble said he was livid about this shooting.

"It's unacceptable," he said. "This neighborhood was full of children. People are outside, and we are just, we are trying our best to partner with the neighborhoods to reduce crime, and then we have these knuckleheads, these cowards, out here using guns to solve their individual problems."

If you have any information on the shooting, call the Bell County Crime Stoppers at 254-526-TIPS or go to their website.
