WACO, Texas — The Waco City Council unanimously approved in its meeting Tuesday night to allow a QuikTrip to come to the city. The gas station will be built along the north side of New Road west of I-35 across from the Flying J truck stop next to the Quality Inn and IHOP.

"Waco is one of the fastest-growing places in the state," QuikTrip real estate project manager Gween Keen said. "A beautiful city and we can't wait to be a part of it."

Waco City Councilman Jim Holmes said he was thrilled with the gas station coming to Waco.

"I stop at QT all the time," he said. "I just have to know, will there be two hot dogs for $1.99?"

There is no time frame yet for when the QuikTrip will be built.
