AUSTIN, Texas — Texas Senate Bill 282, also known as the Salado Bill, officially passed through the Texas Senate and is on its way to the House.
Senator Dawn Buckingham (R-Lakeway), who authored the bill, pushed it through with a unanimous vote of 30 to nothing.
She said on Facebook the bill is designed to help communities that are financially impacted by state transportation projects, especially Interstate 35 construction.
Areas around Central Texas were severely impacted by the I-35 construction project, and it played a role in multiple businesses closing their doors.
