Salado woman arrested after threatening to kill parents, police say

A 22-year-old Salado woman was arrested last Wednesday for threatening to kill her parents, shortly after she was picked up from the Killeen Police Department, the Harker Heights Police Department said.

HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas — A 22-year-old Salado woman was arrested last Wednesday, Nov. 21, for threatening to kill her parents, Harker Heights Police said.

Kegan Laramie Owen was picked up from the Killeen Police Department by her 52-year-old dad early that morning, Harker Heights Police said.

The dad told police that the two got into an argument during the drive, officers said.

He told police he pulled over at the 900 block of E. Knights Way, got out of the car, then Owen said "I will kill your ***," according to investigators.

Owen then hit her dad in the back with a heavy backpack, police said.

Police were dispatched to the scene at 7:48 a.m., the department said.

The dad told police he felt pain, but refused emergency medical service, officers said. He also told police he wanted to press charges against his daughter, the department said.

Owen's father also said she threatened him and her mother earlier that day, according to investigators.

Owen was arrested on charges of assault causing bodily injury to a family member and terroristic threat of family, the department said.
