HILLSBORO, Texas — A second arrest was made Monday in connection with the shooting death of a Hillsboro woman earlier this year.

Cecola Mozon, 41, was taken into custody around 4 p.m., 10 months after 27-year-old Deonshira Slider was shot to death in the parking lot of an apartment complex as she sat inside her car with her 4-year-old son in the backseat, police said.

Hillsboro police arrested Edgar Barr-Lazcano in connection with Slider's death on Nov. 19, and charged him with murder and endangering a child.

Police said that on Feb. 23, Slider was on her way to her mother’s house for breakfast when she was shot and killed.

Slider’s family members said they believe her death stemmed from jealousy over the person she was dating. Family members said Mozon, who is from Modesto, California, is the woman who was jealous of Slider for dating her ex-husband.

Barr-Lazcano is in the Hill County Jail on a $1 million bond.
