Temple Community Clinic to receive proclamation from city for 25 years of service

The Temple Community Clinic was created in 1992 as a health resource for the underserved population of Temple and all of Bell County.

TEMPLE, Texas — The City of Temple will present a proclamation to the Temple Community Clinic Monday in recognition of its work to serve residents in Temple and Bell County who need health care.

The clinic was created in 1992 as a health resource for the underserved population of the community. It's success depends on volunteers from health care professionals, community members and the donations of local businesses, according to TCC board member Deke Jones.

The clinic will host its annual Caring Ball on February 9, 2019 at the Mayborn Convention Center in Temple. Tickets can be purchased until February 2.

Jones said the clinic is offering two chances to win two tickets to the ball for people who donate and post to their Facebook or Twitter pages with a post that says "I supported @TempleTxClinic, won't you?"

Donations can be made through the TCC website or by texting "Donate" to 254-323-8995, said Jones.

Jones said the effort is a way to be part of National Giving Tuesday which was created as a way to kick off the charitable season after Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
