Temple Fire and Rescue responded to a pair of calls Friday morning -- the first fire located in the 500 block of East Avenue F, and the second in a vacant house at 311 North 14th Street.
Temple Fire Department (TFD) dispatched 9 units and 22 personnel to the fire located on East Avenue F at 10:18 p.m., arrived at the scene by 10:22 p.m., and cleared the scene by 11:09 p.m. Temple Police and Scott & White EMS were also at the scene.
Estimated damages to the building totaled under $1,000. There were no injures and the fire is under investigation.
Firefighters, police, and EMS were then dispatched to the fire at a wood frame building at 2:30 a.m. TFD responded with 10 units and 24 personnel.
The fire was brought under control by 4 a.m., but winds caused smoke to blow northwest of the area. The intensity of the flames damaged power lines in front of the house, causing them to fall from the pole to the ground.
The scene was cleared by 6:12 a.m.
The building was deemed a total loss due to the extent of the damage.
No one was injured. The cause of the fire is undetermined and is under investigation.
